Service with HOSA: Future Health Professionals

I serve on the State Executive Council for Utah HOSA: Future Health Professionals, an international organization focused on developing leadership in students who aspire to enter the medical field. I have worked in and competed at HOSA for three years; at the chapter level, I planned awareness campaigns for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and represented my school at the 2015 and 2016 International Leadership conferences. This year, as State Service Vice President, I have designed and implemented a new competitive event, the HOSA Games, which will unite the Utah HOSA community through serving the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). This event aims to encourage chapter service participation through friendly competition and provides a platform for chapter cooperation. In October, at the 2016 statewide Fall Leadership Conference, I unveiled this event, and ran a workshop for chapter leadership from 85 schools to organize service projects for NAMI.
